Charles Hardage

Charlie is an experienced dispute resolution counsel with a background in US court litigation, cross-border dispute resolution, and international commercial arbitration. Most recently, he worked in the Cross-Border Dispute Resolution Group of the Beijing office of King & Wood Mallesons, a top Asia-based international law firm. Charlie represented a number of large U.S. and Chinese clients in high-value transnational disputes and private commercial international arbitrations. He has represented clients in proceedings before the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre, the Singapore International Arbitration Centre, the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission, and the International Centre for Dispute Resolution of the American Arbitration Association.

Prior to his work in China, Charlie worked with Tanner Bishop, a predecessor firm to Bishop Mills. He gained experience in all stages of US court litigation and appellate practice. His US court practice focused on a wide array of commercial disputes and he has extensive experience with administrative hearings.

Charlie also has experience advising clients on compliance with US export control and sanction laws under the Export Administration Regulations, the International Traffic in Arms Regulations, and the regulations of the Office of Foreign Asset Control in the US Department of Treasury.

Charlie lived and worked in Beijing for over five years, and regularly travels to China for work and business. He speaks and reads Mandarin Chinese at a functional level.

Charlie graduated from Georgetown Law Center cum laude. After graduation, he clerked with The Honorable Dorian Damoorgian with the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeals.
